Frequently Asked Questions

A: If your roof is between the age of 15-30 years, it’s time to start keeping an eye on the clear-cut signs that your roof is at the end of its road.

Visually, you’re looking for fraying and broken tiles and general wear on the integrity of the roof. New England weathers can wreak havoc on a roof based on the volatile weather conditions.

Keep an eye out for “bald spots” on your roof, specifically where asphalt tiles are losing their sheen and protection. You should be able to eyeball if you see broken shingles, cracks, decaying shingles and more importantly, any water issues on your ceiling that indicate that the roof isn’t protecting the materials underneath it. As always, we are here to help. Contact us today and we can come out to your house to give an honest opinion on the condition of your roof and what upgrades and fixes may be required.

A: The overall cost for a full roof replacement can vary based on the materials you choose. Check out our comprehensive roofing material breakdown to get an idea for what options cost how much. And as always, feel free to reach out to us at Roofing Wayland to give you an idea of a cost calculation.

A: There are indeed instances where fixes can be made to a roof vs. an entire replacement. Overall, if you see the warning signs that the integrity of your shingles is poor, it makes sense to replace the entire roof to ensure that there are no future issues, as chances are, there will be.

A: This answer has a good amount of variables, but a typical roof install (where the wood underneath the roof is in good condition) takes upwards of 3 to 4 days. Once again, we are here to answer questions based on our customers providing us with some additional details about the overall condition of their roof.

A: Roofing Wayland does our best to minimize any life interruption or hassle during the installation of  your roof. While you can be home during the installation (with your pets!), there will be a considerable amount of noise and work going on around you and your family. We do our best to make the process quick, clean and accommodating to our customers.

A: Homeowners should do their homework. When reviewing a roofing contractor’s website, be on the lookout for glowing customer testimonials, positive feedback and make sure that the company has the proper certifications and licenses for roof installation. If there are multiple local companies in your area, “word of mouth” really comes into play on which company has done quality work for your surrounding area.

A: Roofing Wayland has a full-system, worry-free warranty that guarantees 100% satisfaction of a job done right. It’s just another example of how we value our reputation for honesty, integrity and reliability over profitability.

A. All individuals who perform roof replacement, siding, and window replacement are required to hold both a Home Improvement Registration and a Construction Supervisor’s License. Hans Peterson has been licensed and insured since 1996. Don’t take our word for it. Always double check online at Mass.gov.

A. Contractors are not required by law to carry insurance. Liability Insurance protects homeowners should a major problem occur. The homeowner’s insurance company is under no obligation to help with the cost to repair any unforeseen damages.

Roofing Wayland is fully insured.

A. Check payment is our preferred form of payment. You can also pay via credit card, however, your project manager will need to adjust your final bill to account for the credit card processing fee.
